Catching fish for food is one of the most essential things in survival especially in Durango. There are things you need to learn before you start catching fish.

Then you need to find where the fish are. You need to go in rivers or lakes and search for them. They look like a school of small fishes in the water. If you are having difficulty finding them just click the Magnifying Icon in the lower right of your screen and you can see them as Shoal of Fish.
Avoid going into dessert islands if you are going to fish. It's very hard to find them there.
Just click the shoal of fish then click the fish you want to catch. Basically there are fish and big fish. If there are many fish in that shoal you can click on it many times to queue up the process.
The fish caught will go directly into your bag. You can find them there. Big fish consume more space than the normal fish.
You can eat your freshly caught fish directly or you can cook them to make more satisfying meal. Fishes are often to be part of your quest as well. You need to deliver certain amount of fish to complete your quest.
